Our Team

Shashwat Gandhi

Co-founder & Director

He is a Mumbai based filmmaker who began as a student of science graduate in Electrical Engineering from IIT Bombay; moved to commerce to trade derivatives for an Investment Bank in Tokyo and Hong Kong; and finally settled into the arts making films back in his hometown. Shashwat holds a Diploma in Filmmaking from Whistling Woods International where he was awarded scholarships for exemplary performance. At Boathouse Media, he has been a director of over 300 commercials many of which have won awards and accolades for both him and the clients.

Yugshrestha Karpatne

Co-founder & Producer

Yug had the entrepreneur in him right since his baby days. Even before he reached the legal age of driving, he was driving an E-commerce business. Yug has a Diploma in Filmmaking from Whistling Woods where he not only graduated as the topper in his batch but also marketed a Hindi feature film, produced two international co-productions and won the Best Producer award from Entertainment Partners. When people want a break from work, they vacation. When Yug wants a break from work where he has produced over 500 commercials, he imparts his knowledge and experience to budding students as Guest faculty at Whistling Woods film school!

Yug is the Birbal of the Boathouse Media empire, his presence of mind is often called upon in crisis on film sets and he would respond in his signature cool demeanor with – ‘Tu tension mat le, shot le’. When he is not handling a crisis, Yug loves to play and watch cricket.

Sneha Parekh Gandhi

Head - Marketing

Her patients were heartbroken when Sneha decided to quit her career as a full-time dentist to pursue her passion in the advertising world. Sneha brings the patience and tenacity of her medical profession in developing business for Boathouse Media. So, it’s easy to pinpoint on the person responsible for the meteoric rise of Boathouse Media’s growth! When you meet her for the first time, try not looking at her puppy eyes, they are known to hypnotize you into buying whatever she is selling. We are yet to find a client or agency who is unaffected by her affable charm!

Charulika Julaniya

Executive Producer

Charulika, fearfully known as Charu Madam, has a proven track record of intimidating large teams and leading them to a successful production. Ever since Charu joined, there has never been any commercial of Boathouse Media without her name on it. She has impeccable knowledge of all things film from the creative to the executive, from the financial to the managerial. Her own cupboard might be mismanaged but her production runs like a smooth oiled machine half out of her amazing coordination skills and half out of fear of wronging her. It wasn't a surprise when Whistling Woods decided to honour this superwoman with a Gold medal in film producing after over 25 short films to her credit as a producer which includes international co-productions.

One thing you should talk with her about is politics and world travel. One thing you shouldn't talk to her about is her claimed superiority of all food items prepared in Indore, where she hails from. If you are doing a project with Boathouse Media, you shall have to pass through her. Don't say we didn't give tips!

Anubhav Dasgupta

Manager - Post Production

Born and brought up in Bombay, Anubhav Dasgupta had a keen interest in filmmaking from childhood. After having edited seven short films and assisted on two feature films, including Nandita Das's celebrated Partition epic Manto, he has joined Boathouse Media as Post Production Manager. With an interest in avant garde, graphic storytelling and experimental cinema, he brings a distinct creative perspective to the content at Boathouse Media.

Devik Rathod

Writer, Director

A civil engineer turned writer-director, Devik’s cinematic journey began after he instituted his college’s cinema and theatre society. Having found his true calling, he went on to study film direction at Whistling Woods International in Mumbai and then script writing at the New York Film Academy. A Gold Medalist at film school, he assisted Shoojit Sircar and his team on several commercials soon after graduating. Armoured with a knack for writing engaging comedies and dramas, he then decided to go the independent route to bring his own ideas to life.

Akash Nayak

Line Producer

Akash’s journey is a full circle from stepping foot into Engineering to Filmmaking. He quickly adapted to world of filmmaking with his extreme dedication and creative skills, also achieving the award for the best producing student of his batch from Whistling Woods International, Mumbai. With his brilliant patience levels, he constantly drives his efforts towards making things happen and makes it impossible for people to say ‘No’ to him. The only time he is not going to answer his call is when he is watching a movie or has a plate full of yummy food in front of him

Kavya Bellani

Assistant Director

Hailing from the city of Chennai, Kavya has completed her Advanced Diploma in filmmaking, specialising valuable asset to the team. Hardworking and passionate about her role as an Assistant Director, she always finds her way through the chaos on or off the sets and always has a solution to any problem

Jaitre Surti

Born and brought up in Mumbai, Jaitre loves playing Chess and Football. He is Into both, editing and producing films.
